Best selling author Cecelia Ahern married her childhood sweetheart David Keoghan in a secret ceremony yesterday.
Guests were led to believe they were attending the christening of the couple’s daughter Robin.
Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern walked his daughter up the ailse to give her away.
The couple and their guests then travelled to Lyons estate in Co. Kildare for a low key reception.
Cecelia had always insisted that their wedding would be a low key affair: “I don’t want a lot of fuss or anything”.
I wonder will Cecelia start a new trend in Ireland for last minute announcement weddings – no interference from mother-in-laws, arguements over guest lists etc. We’ll just have to wait and see!
